DEA workshop will be offered by Tanzania Eduction and Research Network. The workshops will be held from Monday to Friday, November, 2015. The TERNET workshops will take place in Mbeya, Tanzania at the UNIVERSITY hall.
System Security and Managment Workshop
Requirements
Some Linux/UNIX experience Knowledge of TCP/IP protocols and layer 2 and layer 3 network basics Recommended Software
SSH
PuTTY for Windows Linux/UNIX and Mac OS already have SSH installed. DO NOT USE PUTTY FOR LINUX OR MAC! VNC
TightVNC for windows (32bit) TightVNC for windows (64bit) Ubuntu users should have vinagre installed by default (or apt-get install vinagre will get it. Alternatively apt-get install xtightvncviewer gets tightvnc for Ubuntu installed) OS X has an inbuilt VNC client that you access from the Finder application (command+k) but it doesn't easily allow you to specify port numbers besides the default so try the Chicken VNC client
